Patient first, always
Every decision goes through one filter: is this what the patient actually needs? Not what's most profitable. Not what's most efficient. What's right.

We started Pompeii in 2014 because too many people were being priced out of life-changing surgery — or worse, signed up for cheap procedures with no aftercare. Our mission is to be the bariatric center America's working class actually deserves: real surgeons, real safety, real prices, and a team that stays with you for life.
Born from a simple observation: U.S. self-pay bariatric surgery had become a luxury good. We opened with a single OR, 2 surgeons, and one promise — fix that.
Word-of-mouth carried us. By the end of 2016, our private patient community had crossed 5,000 members and we'd reached our first 1,000 successful surgeries.
We became one of the first centers in Mexico to bake a true complication policy into every package — covering any complication during a patient's stay, including extra surgeries, hospital nights, medications, and rebooked travel. Still rare today.
While most border centers closed, we built our remote pre-op program and lifetime aftercare program — the foundation of what we now call "a family that stays with you for life."
Ten years later, with the same founding promise: real surgeons, real safety, real prices, real aftercare. No buyout, no PE acquisition, no shortcuts.
2025–26 brought a new partnership with Hospital Bellas Artes, expanding our surgical capacity without compromising our patient-first model. The team, the prices, the aftercare — unchanged.
Every decision goes through one filter: is this what the patient actually needs? Not what's most profitable. Not what's most efficient. What's right.
Real prices. Real complications. Real risks. We over-disclose because trust earned in the dark always crumbles in daylight. We tell you the messy truth.
Surgery is the start, not the end. Weekly check-ins, a 70k+ private community, nutrition support — for life. No "you're discharged, good luck" moment.
Same anesthesia drugs, same monitoring, same equipment, same nursing ratios as American hospitals. The cost differences are in delivery, not care.
Our community is full of patients from years ago, still engaged, still helping new patients. That doesn't happen at a transactional clinic. It happens at a family.
If you're not a candidate, we say so. If a different procedure is better, we say so. If a competitor would serve you better, we say so. Trust over volume.
We didn't build Pompeii to be the cheapest. We built it to be the place where ten years from now, a patient says "that's where my real life started." Everything else — pricing, marketing, scale — flows from that.
The values above don't ship themselves. Every coordinator, surgeon, nurse, nutritionist, and post-op support team member is the reason this works. Meet the people who make Pompeii actually be Pompeii.
