Everyone gives 110%. The nurses are always attentive. My only regret? I wish I had done this surgery sooner.

What's in the price

Twelve things — already paid for.

Every one of these is part of your flat-rate price. Not a single one is sold as an upsell. Other Mexico clinics quote a low headline number and then add fees for many of these. We don't.

The one thing not included.

We're allergic to "from" pricing that hides the real cost. So the only thing you pay outside our package — full stop — is your flight to San Diego.

Round-trip airfare to San Diego (SAN)

Typically $200–$600 depending on origin city and timing. We pick you up at SAN airport from there — ground transportation in/out of Mexico is fully included. Booking flights for both you and a travel companion? That's the only cost outside our package.

Average: ~$350 round-trip from most U.S. cities Companion flights: totally optional — many patients fly solo
Your real out-of-pocket

Add it up. That's the whole bill.

Most other "all-inclusive" Mexico quotes have asterisks. Ours doesn't. Here's the entire financial picture for a typical sleeve patient flying in from a U.S. city.

Gastric Sleeve · all-inclusive
$4,900
Round-trip airfare to San Diego
~$350
Your total out-of-pocket
~$5,250

Compare: average U.S. self-pay sleeve $18,000–$25,000, often before pre-op testing, anesthesiologist fees, hospital stay, and follow-up are billed separately.

The honest answer

Why we're so much less expensive.

Because U.S. healthcare costs aren't really about care. They're about administration, insurance overhead, real estate, malpractice premiums, and 14 layers of middlemen. Mexico's medical system runs without most of that bloat — and we pass the savings directly to patients.

  • Lower surgical staff & facility costs (without compromising quality)
  • No insurance billing overhead — we deal directly with patients
  • Volume — thousands of bariatric procedures per year
  • Same medications, same equipment, lower margins

What we don't cut: surgeon experience, anesthesia quality, post-op nursing ratios, equipment, or follow-up care. We've benchmarked outcomes against U.S. centers for over a decade.

Where the money goes

Same surgery. Same equipment. Same medications. Wildly different cost stacks.

U.S. cost-stack proportions are approximate, drawn from Health Affairs + RAND Corp self-pay analyses. Exact splits vary by hospital — but the pattern is consistent: in U.S. healthcare, less than half the price actually pays for care.

Can't pay all-cash?

Same-day financing. $0 down for many patients.

We hold our own loans — transparent terms, no third-party credit games, same-day approval. Average down payment for the typical 640-719 credit tier: ~$500. Average monthly: ~$200.

Common gotchas

What patients ask about price.

No marketing fluff — just the financial questions we get most often.

Is the price really all-inclusive? Or are there hidden fees?

Yes — genuinely all-inclusive. The number you see on this page is what you pay. Surgery, surgeon, anesthesia, hospital nights, your hotel nights, all medications, ground transport, nutritionist visits, complication coverage, lifetime aftercare — all already paid. The only thing not in the package is your round-trip flight to San Diego.

What if there are complications — does the price change?

No. Complication coverage is included in every package at no extra cost. If anything happens while you're under our care that requires additional surgery, extended hospital nights, additional nursing, additional medications, or even rebooked flights and hotel nights — we cover it. The price stays the price. See full coverage scope →

What if I need to stay an extra night for non-medical reasons?

Medically necessary extra hospital nights are included in the package (covered by our complication policy). If you simply want extra hotel time for personal reasons, the daily rate for additional hotel nights is around $100–$160 depending on availability — paid directly to the hotel.

Why don't you offer "from $3,500" pricing like other Mexico clinics?

Because we hate the bait-and-switch. Other clinics advertise "from $3,500" — then your real total ends up at $5,500+ after pre-op fees, hospital fees, anesthesia, "facility fees", and 8 other line items added on at the hospital. We tell you the real price up front and stick to it. There are no promotions because there's no fluff to discount.

Why do U.S. clinics charge $20,000+ for the same surgery?

Three things: (1) U.S. hospital overhead is massive — labor, real estate, malpractice insurance, billing departments. (2) Insurance billing inflates list prices because clinics expect to be paid pennies on the dollar. (3) The U.S. self-pay market is small, so prices haven't been competitively pressured. Mexico's system simply has lower overhead — not lower quality.

Will my U.S. insurance cover any of this?

Almost never directly. However, many patients find our all-inclusive Mexico price is less than their U.S. deductible alone. HSA/FSA accounts can sometimes be used — confirm with your plan administrator. We provide itemized receipts that meet most plan documentation requirements.

Do you offer payment plans / financing?

Yes. In-house financing with same-day approval, $0 down available for the strongest credit tier, average down payment ~$500 for the largest patient profile (640-719). We hold our own loans — no third-party credit gymnastics — and partner with United Medical Credit for larger balances. Soft credit pull only at application. Apply for financing →  ·  See full breakdown →

What if I'm declined for surgery after pre-op testing?

Full refund of the surgical package, even though we performed the testing. We absorb the cost of pre-op evaluation because patient safety can't be a financial risk. You're refunded for the surgical portion, and you keep the medical findings to take to your U.S. doctor.

How do I actually pay — and when?

We accept cash, cashier's check, or financing — and there are no deposits. Your balance is simply due before surgery. Financed patients have $0 due at booking, with the loan covering the full balance and your first monthly payment about 30 days after surgery. Your coordinator walks you through the exact schedule.
