Welcome to my practice

Quietly excellent. Relentlessly safe.

I've dedicated my career to helping patients reclaim their health and confidence through bariatric surgery. With more than 5,000 procedures performed, I've witnessed countless transformations that go far beyond the scale — they're about renewed energy, improved health, and the joy of living life fully again.

What sets my approach apart is my deep understanding of the emotional journey that accompanies weight loss surgery. I know that choosing surgery is one of the most significant decisions you'll ever make, and I'm here to support you every step of the way — from your first consultation through your long-term success.

“You're not just a case number — you're a person with unique needs, concerns, and goals. Together, we'll create a personalized plan that's right for you.”
— Dr. Carlos Galindo
My philosophy & approach

Patient comfort first. Always.

Patient comfort and emotional well-being are at the heart of everything I do. I understand that many patients come to me feeling anxious or overwhelmed. My goal is to create a calm, supportive atmosphere where you feel safe, informed, and confident in your decision. I take extra time with patients who need reassurance, and I'm always available to answer questions — no matter how small they may seem.

I believe in a personalized approach to bariatric surgery. Every patient is different, and what works for one person may not be the best choice for another. I carefully evaluate your medical history, lifestyle, and goals to recommend the procedure that will give you the best long-term results.

Many patients tell me that after meeting with me, their fears melted away. I want you to feel like you're working with a trusted friend who genuinely cares about your well-being. Because I do.

Why I chose Pompeii Surgical

Joining Pompeii Surgical was one of the best decisions of my career. What drew me here was their commitment to patient-centered care and their mission to make bariatric surgery accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. I share those values deeply.

At Pompeii, I have the freedom to practice medicine the way it should be practiced — with compassion, integrity, and a focus on what's best for the patient.

I'm also proud to be part of Pompeii's pro bono program, which allows me to help patients who otherwise couldn't afford life-changing surgery — over 150 free surgeries every year, totaling more than $500,000 in donated care annually.

Signature procedures

What Dr. Galindo performs daily.

High-volume practice across primary bariatric surgery and complex conversion cases.

Gastric Sleeve

The most-performed bariatric procedure worldwide. Dr. Galindo's sleeve technique uses Ethicon staples and runs ~45-60 min OR time with multi-layer reinforcement at the staple line.

Gastric Bypass (RNY)

Roux-en-Y bypass for patients with higher BMI, type-2 diabetes, or severe GERD. ~90 min OR time, fully laparoscopic.

Revision surgery

Sleeve-to-bypass conversion, sleeve-to-SADI, band-to-sleeve. Complex cases where re-operative anatomy demands surgical judgment.

Hiatal hernia repair

Adds ~15-20 min OR time when bundled with bariatric surgery — included free in your Pompeii package if found during operation.

Complex anatomy cases

Patients with prior abdominal surgery, large hiatal hernias, or higher BMI (50+) routinely route to Dr. Galindo's caseload.

Endoscopic follow-up

For revision evaluations and post-op concerns. Dr. Galindo can perform diagnostic endoscopy on-site at Hospital Bellas Artes.
